Chair Yoga with Libby Volkening Thursdays at 9:30am.

This is mostly seated yoga, for everyone, no matter how long you have been practicing.  Many report increased flexibillity and balance due to the class.  The movements and relaxation built into the class make this a great way to start the day!

Donations appreciated but voluntary and go towards addtional classes and equipment.

Healthy Bones and Body Class Wednesdays from 10:30-11:15 am.

Hello everyone,

I hope you are all keeping yourselves safe and healthy during these challenging times.  Dottie, Becky, and I have been working on putting together a remote HBB class using ZOOM. The first class is scheduled for 10:30 on Wed, April 1. Feel free to join us if you are a "regular" or if this is your first time. The group is experimenting with this technology and all are welcome: https://zoom.us/download. We will update with a meeting code prior to Wed.  

This class is for everyone, regardless of ability.  Start slow or add more!  You will do simple seated stretches to warm up, and then use 1-5 pound had and /or ankle weights to gradually increase muscle and bone mass.  This is one of the best fall prevention programs available!  It is evidence-based and led by trained senior leaders.

PVRS Strength Training Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 6:30-7:30

There are rowing machines, universal gyms, free weights and floor space.  An instructor will teach you what you need to keep bones healthy and avoid falls and help you enjoy all your activities even more.  Come join the laughter and fun and meet others being the best we can be.  This is a Recreation Department Program.

Walking in the warmer weather

A brisk walk around town is great excercise.  We have walkable sidewalks and friendly folks along the way.  We would love to have a walking group in town! If you're interested in helping to get this group going, please "step up".  Call for more information: 498-2186

Pilates

Robin McKeon has a great class for those just starting at 4:45 Mondays.  The fee is $15 to drop in, $40 for the month or $110 for 10 classes.  This is a wonderful way to find out about those muscles we don't know we need!  Robin will help you accomodate any restrictions of movement you may have.  You must be able to get down on the floor. Classes are held in the basement of the Unitarian Church across from the Town Hall.
